"Do something today that your future self will thank you for."

No one can control the future, but good insurance can bring the next best thing - peace of mind. Peace of Mind.

Knowing you're covered for whatever the future brings.

Think all insurance is alike? Congratulations, you might just be the luckiest person alive, because the surest way to understand why you need the right insurance is to_well, need insurance. Whether it is your health, your home, your car or your business, having the right coverage in place before you need it is key.

"We take a different approach to insurance," says Larry Talbert, owner of Talbert Insurance Services.

As an independent insurance agency, Talbert Insurance Services offers coverage from more than 30 difference carriers. They shop the carriers for the best coverage and the best rates, but the focus is always on the customer.

"We demand the best for them. We save money for our customers, and make sure they're protected," says Talbert. "We're able to leverage our longevity and the volume of business we do to the benefit of our customers," he adds.

Serving the region for more than 30 years, the team at Talbert's offers home, auto and life insurance, plus commercial insurance for all types of businesses._ Their knowledgeable staff has more than 175 years of experience and is wholly committed to client services.

"Insurance doesn't have to be boring. We want to learn about our clients' lives. Our customers become our friends," says Talbert. "Your car, your home, your business and your life all require protection. Once we understand your unique needs, we will get to work to craft an effective and affordable protection plan."

Keeping their service personal is a big priority for Talbert. "I hate voice mail. If you call us, you're going to talk to a real person." His team knows that emergencies always seem to happen after business hours, so you can expect a quick response at nights and on weekends, too. "When someone needs us, we know it's important."

They take pride in timely service, and can often return a quote the same day.

Talbert's commitment to customer service and to the community has earned them seven straight Best of Gwinnett awards. Talbert Insurance Services was also recognized by the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce as a semi-finalist for the Small Business Pinnacle Award, and they support the Care for Kids Foundation, Care for Cops Foundation and School Folders for Elementary Schools.

What Type of Auto Insurance is Required in Georgia?

  • The minimum limits of liability insurance required under Georgia law are bodily injury liability of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per occurrence and property damage liability of $25,000 per occurrence.
  • Liability insurance is insurance that pays damages to others, on behalf of an insured, for injury to or damaged property of others, up to the policy limit, which an insured may have caused by his negligence.
  • Liability insurance may protect the insured against claims made by someone who alleges he was at-fault.
  • Physical damage insurance is insurance to pay for loss or damage to your own vehicle.
  • Physical damage insurance consists of two types. The first part, which pays for theft, vandalism and fire type losses, is referred to as either "comprehensive" or "other than collision coverage." The second part is "collision" coverage.
  • Physical damage coverage is not required by Georgia law, but is usually required by the lender (bank or finance company) if there is a loan on the vehicle or by the leasing company if it is leased. An insured can file a claim under his own physical damage coverage even if someone else may have caused the accident.
  • Uninsured motorist insurance may also be included on a policy, and would protect you when an uninsured driver causes an accident which damages your vehicle or injures you or your passengers.
