Filled with antiques, nostalgia and a touch of retro, Shenanigans reminds one of being in a neighborhood hair salon # a place where you feel right at home. The stylists are personable, taking an interest in you as well as your hair.
In the Duluth area for the past 16 years, Shenanigans recently moved close to the Mall of Georgia. Owner Judy Asmer started the salon with seven employees and doubled that number over the years. “I wanted to design a different kind of salon, since all the salons I saw were plain black and white. I didn”t want just one type of clientele, so I designed the interior of Shenanigans to appeal to all ages. Our clients range from babies getting their first hair cut at six months to a 94-year-old lady.”
It”s no wonder clients refer to Shenanigans as a family. Over the years, Asmer and her staff have gone through the marriages, births and grandchildren of clients. People keep coming back, bringing their families and friends. Part of the appeal of Shenanigans is that it”s well established and known in the community. Its not just another chain hair salon, but a hair salon, that for some families, is as familiar as their family doctor.
A full-service salon, Shenanigans also has a spa. “We want to keep up with the latest products and trends. Right now we”re getting into hot stone therapy, and we constantly do continuing education to stay up-to-date,” said Asmer.
Located across from the Mall of Georgia at the Spectrum shopping center, Shenanigans is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.- 8 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. To make an appointment or for more information, call Shenanigans at 770-497-8727.
