Founder and Attorney Rebeca Salmon
Rebeca Salmon is passionate about providing access to legal counsel to those living “in the margins”# of society, including the undocumented, victims of crime, and abused and abandoned children.

She is so passionate in fact that she used her successful for-profit law firm to underwrite the non-profit Access to Law Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring that no vulnerable person goes without legal counsel based solely on inability to pay. In addition to their Norcross office, Salmon and the firm”s 15 dedicated staff and various interns travel around the state in their “mobile office,”# bringing counsel to clients without the means to travel and offering reasonable fees on a sliding-scale.

“These are people just like you and me – friends, neighbors, cooks in your favorite restaurant – all worthy people who deserve the same protection the law provides all of us,”# Salmon says.

“Immigration law is extremely complicated,”# Salmon says, “and the intersection with juvenile law, criminal law, or other state issues causes a cycle difficult to break. We wanted to help people navigate a very difficult legal process, but also provide them with the tools necessary to succeed in life. For us, providing holistic and zealous representation are more than catch phrases. We believe in helping our clients resolve their issues, so they can focus on self empowerment. We speak at least two languages and let people tell their story in a way that they begin to heal and in turn are empowered to succeed. This is so important because every detail of every case is different and every person worthy of a chance.”#

Salmon believes that she and her firm have been able to affect a great deal of change just by advocating on behalf of people that don”t often have access to the legal system.”I want to shed light on issues and give people a voice.”# Says Salmon, “[Quoting Martin Luther King Jr.] Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”#
