Who’s ready to actually LOL? Aurora Theatre welcomes warmer weather with Comedy Nights hilarity, Children’s Playhouse spectaculars and the spice of Latin culture with Teatro Aurora! Children’s programming invites kids to explore under the sea with the Georgia Aquarium, while fan favorite local improv group Dad’s Garage heats up the stage – with no shortage of laughter – for spring Comedy Nights. If this doesn’t put pep in your step, sign up for “An Evening of Salsa” and let the Latin music guide you around the dance floor. With plenty of activities for all ages, Aurora Theatre is the place to be this spring!

Aurora’s Children’s Playhouse

Ocean of Discovery by Georgia Aquarium
Saturday, March 19; 10 and 11:30 a.m.

Kids of all ages can journey below the surface of the big blue sea through the use of puppets and music to explore what really goes on in high seas! Tickets are $7.

Havana Son: A Musical Tour Through Latin America
Saturday, March 26; 10 and 11:30 a.m.

A musical journey provided by the critically acclaimed group Havana Son, children will be transported to the tropics to enjoy Latin American culture through live music! Pit stops include Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama and Puerto Rico! Tickets are $7.

Carmen Agra Deedy: Hola Y’all!
Saturday, April 16; 10 and 11:30 a.m.

Aurora Theatre gives a warm welcome to the award-winning children’s author Carmen Agra Deedy! The dynamic Deedy has spent the past 20 years writing and telling stories for hundreds of thousands of children all over the country and the world. Don’t miss this VERY special celebrity edition of Aurora Children’s Playhouse! Tickets are $7.

#AllTheSkills Workshop: Shakespeare
Wednesday, April 13; 5:30-7:30 p.m.

High school students can learn #AllTheSkills in this killer new series of workshops led by some of Atlanta’s best professional artists, happening once a month on Wednesday nights! Students can sign up for any individual workshop that fits their schedule or register for all workshops to receive a discount! Please remember that there is a one-time student registration fee of $25. With space limited to 15 students per class, pre-booking is recommended. All proceeds go to benefit the Aurora Apprentice Program.

In the Shakespeare workshop, learn how to tame the tongue-twisting text from the greatest playwright in the English language! With coaching from renowned local thespian Tiffany Porter, young actors will tackle the tricky Elizabethan language with dexterity by way of fun phrases and hilarious insults! Registration fee is $25.

Aurora Comedy Nights: Dad’s Garage
March 18-19; 7:15 and 9:15 p.m.

Bring on the laughter! Atlanta’s favorite improv group brings back the belly laughter to Aurora Theatre with its one-of-a-kind interactive performances this March! Tickets are $10.

Teatro Aurora: An Evening of Salsa!
Saturday, March 26; 8 p.m.

Aurora presents a fiery evening of Latin music and Salsa dancing in the Aurora Studio! Live music, provided by Havana Son, will only add to the tropical ambiance, as guests let loose and dance the night away to Caribbean beats. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are $15.

Into the Woods
March 10- April 17

Presenting a modern twist on the magical fairy tales of the beloved Brothers Grimm, Aurora Theatre invites audiences to experience the enchanting presentation of six-time Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods, March 10-April 17! Legendary composer Stephen Sondheim unveils the consequences that come when acting upon one’s deepest desires and wishes. Will good overcome evil? Will the price paid be enough? This vibrant adaptation of the global phenomenon transports audiences into the woods alongside favorite fictional characters to find out what happens after happily ever after!

Although based on fairy tales, this musical is not a children’s show. Tickets range from $30-$65 and can be purchased online at tickets.auroratheatre.com or by calling the box office at 678-226-6222.
