Are you looking for a local spot to enjoy this weekend”s Irish holiday? Dance, drink and be merry this St. Patrick”s Day (March 17) in Downtown Historic Lawrenceville at the Spring Green Festival and Chick-Fil-A 5K Race Series.

Hosted by New Lawrenceville, the 2012 Spring Green Festival is considered to be Gwinnett”s largest St. Patrick”s Day event. This all-day family celebration will kick off with a one-mile fun run at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K race for registered individuals and groups.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you and your family can explore more than 100 vendor booths surrounding the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, including crafters and artists, local businesses and great food.# A kids corner will host sand art and tie-dye projects, moonwalks, face painting and more!

Visitors can also take advantage of the wonderful shops and restaurants in Downtown Historic Lawrenceville.

The evening events will begin at 6 p.m. with a free concert that features a variety of local bands. Families should plan to bring their blankets and chairs to dance and sing the night away on the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse lawn.

Proceeds from this festival will benefit three local charities – The Lawrenceville Police Benevolent Fund, The Special Needs School of Gwinnett and The Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation.
