Gwinnett Chamber

With a mission of being “in business for you,”# the Gwinnett Chamber forged ahead through the first half of the year generating business and networking opportunities for the benefit of our members and the local business community.# Through programs such as the 1,000+ attended Annual Dinner, State of the County, Gwinnett Day at the Capitol, the Valor Awards, the Pinnacle Small Business Awards and many others – connections were made and businesses thrived in Gwinnett and metro Atlanta.

In addition, I am pleased to report that during these six months the Gwinnett Chamber saw aggressive growth in membership with the highest level of new members since the onset of America”s economic downturn. Over 175 new members have joined the Chamber, with over 30 companies joining or upgrading to our most exclusive membership level – the Gwinnett Chamber Chairman”s Club. This is a testament not only to the Gwinnett Chamber”s quality programs and services, but also to Gwinnett”s vibrant community and strong business climate.

With no plans of slowing down, the Gwinnett Chamber will offer a host of exciting opportunities in the coming months to help your business continue to grow and succeed. From networking to political advocacy and community involvement – the Gwinnett Chamber has something for everyone. All of these involvement opportunities in turn help to keep our community moving ahead with more jobs and a better quality of life.

In the coming months you will get to experience one of the Chamber”s signature events – the Gwinnett Chamber Business Expo and Job Fair Presented by Gwinnett Medical Center on August 23. You will also have the opportunity to take part in the very important vote on July 31 for the Regional Transportation Referendum (RTR). When approved by voters, the RTR will help to untie metro Atlanta”s traffic. With your involvement, the referendum will provide over $7 billion to fund 157 projects unanimously approved by a team of 21 city and county leaders around the region. This vote represents our one opportunity to relieve metro Atlanta”s traffic problem allowing you to spend more time with your family and the chance to create much needed jobs for the community. I urge you to take action and vote yes – for jobs and time – on July 31 with the 2012 Regional Transportation Referendum. Gwinnett and metro Atlanta”s continued success depend on it.

Along with keeping you and the community moving forward through traffic relief, the Gwinnett Chamber will also be offering a new event to promote a healthier community in Gwinnett and metro Atlanta. On August 11 the Gwinnett Chamber and Presenting Sponsor Gwinnett Medical Center will host the inaugural Button Down Dash. The 5k/10k race, starting and ending at the Gwinnett Chamber, will benefit several worthy organizations including Children”s Healthcare of Atlanta, Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, and Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation. I hope you will join us in the race for a healthy community!

And finally, after all your hard work networking, solving our transportation crisis, and building a healthier community – we think you deserve some time to relax! The Gwinnett Chamber will offer you the opportunity to do just that through the Membership and Sponsorship Campaign kicking off on August 9. By joining the Campaign and “Climbing the Charts to #1,” you will have the chance to earn a trip for you and a guest to a tropical destination. By helping the Chamber to sell membership and sponsorships, you will also help us as we continue to enhance Gwinnett and metro Atlanta”s reputation as one of the best places to live and work in the U.S.

The opportunities are varied and diverse, but they all serve one goal – your success – because as you know the Gwinnett Chamber is “in business for you.”# For more information on all of these opportunities to get involved, visit gwinnettchamber.org and get engaged today!
