We may have a few weeks to go before the thermometer gets on board, but if the calendar says September – we say its fall and time to change up our look with the latest fall trends! To make sure we”re right on target, we reached out to our favorite fashionistas at Nordstrom, Macy”s, Belk, plus Uptown Girl, Monkees and the folks in the know at the Avenue Webb Ginn.

Go Bold of GO home!

This fall, you know you”re going to want to make a statement. Make your presence known with this advice from Nordstrom National Fashion Director Gregg Andrews, “The minimal look of the season is spare, but in no way plain. Interest is created by intricate seaming, luxurious fabrics and innovative silhouettes.”

Arlene Goldstein, vice president of trend merchandising and fashion direction for Belk, spells out this way, “Count on classic aesthetic with a modern feel. Clothes are powerful and womanly. Shapes are clever and inspiring. Women will parade their strengths, choosing the very best of what”s new. From retro edge to woodsy charm, one bold piece has never been more important.”

Michelle Jarusinski and the ladies at Uptown Girl in Duluth echo the need for a bold touch – particularly when it comes to accessories. “Over-sized, chunky cardigans are the hottest fashion trend of the season,” says Michelle. “Accessorize with bold and heavy jewelry.”

What else is on Michelle”s “gotta have it” list for this fall? “Velvet is the “it” fabric. Tops, dresses and even denim with studs and embellishments will be key pieces.” The military influence is still felt – Michelle advises pairing an army jacket with pants, distressed jeans or a cute skirt. “This style is casual and very cool.”
