Get on Point with Ballet this Spring

Ballet is a performing art that has been enjoyed by audiences since the late 15th century. As we approach springtime, take the time to attend these local ballet company”s performances of fantasy, love and emotion-filled dance.

Gwinnett Ballet Theatre
Enjoy a performance of one of Shakespeare”s classic tales as the Gwinnett Ballet Theatre presents A Midsummer”s Night Dream on March 5, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and $12 for groups of ten or more. A discounted Girl Scout show will be held on March 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6.

Southern Ballet Theatre
The Southern Ballet Theatre will fascinate audiences this spring with the presentation of Aladdin and His Magical Lamp, on March 11-13 at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center.

Performances are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on March 11; 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 12; and 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 13. Tickets are $16.50 for adults, $14.50 for seniors/students in advance and $18.50 for adults, $16.50 for seniors/students at the door.

Northeast Atlanta Ballet
The cast of the Northeast Atlanta Ballet brings to life the enchanting fairy tale of Cinderella on March 18-20 at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center.

The show opens with a March 18 performance at 7:30 p.m., followed by a March 19 performance at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and a March 20 performance at 2 p.m. Tickets are $13.50-16.50 in advance, $16.50-19.50 at the door. Civic Group rates available.

Atlanta Ballet
The Atlanta Ballet is blending the soulful rhythms of African dance with classical ballet movements to bring audiences Fusion: Lambarena and The Rite of Spring on March 25-27 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

The show premieres on March 25 at 8 p.m. following with weekend shows on March 26 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and March 27 at 2 p.m.
