Heroes Project Update: Sharon Franklin
“I have been enjoying life with family and friends, being able to travel more and being bless that God has given me a second chance in life with my husband and son,” says Sharon Franklin, breast cancer survivor and one of our 2010 Heroes.
Sharon has triumph over a lot in these past few years: a left breast mastectomy with reconstructive surgery, six months of chemotherapy and six months of Herceptin treatments. Now, having completed all her chemotherapy treatments, she”s received good reports from her physician, surgeon and oncologist. “They are so please with all my results,” she says of the doctors. She also feels much healthier by maintaining a healthy diet.
Sharon enjoys sharing her story with others in hopes to be a supportive role model to someone going through cancer. “My advice to individuals of families fighting cancer is not to be frighten by the word – cancer. It”s an illness that you can overcome by doing your research,” Sharon says.# She recommends discussing your medical history with your doctors to help prevent any diseases and to stay focus on God, for He is our provider and has everything under control.
