Gracie in her own words!

Hi, my name is Gracie Greer, and I”m here to talk to you about my summer. First, I want to introduce myself a little bit more.

I love anything that involves music. I love to sing and dance. Since last year, I have been obsessed with ice cream. In school, my nickname is the Ice Cream Queen. Hmmm. I wonder where the best ice cream parlors are? Send me your favorite place!

Now, enough about me, let”s talk about summer! It”s sad that it”s soon coming to an end, but going back to school won”t be all that bad. I go to Sugar Hill Christian Academy. All of our teachers are very nice, and they try their hardest to help each and every child be educated and happy. I”ve heard some kids say that school is boring, but I disagree. I don”t think that the work is boring if you don”t make it that way! It is the way that you learn and study. Some kids say they choose to study straight out of the book, while others will watch a movie or go explore and experiment with the work that needs to be done. If you have tried reading out of the book, try something different! You never know if you like it until you try it! I personally like when teachers mix up ways of teaching instead of right out of the book because using creative learning ideas keeps children, and me, happy and educated!

I think education is important in order for me and all of my peers to have great jobs in the future. Some days we use math or other subjects that we learned in class, and we don”t even realize it! Like when you go to your favorite store and an item is 40% off, you have to do the math in your head to find out the total price! If you want to write a book because you are very creative, but don”t know your grammar, proofreading will make writing your book even harder!

Besides the work, I”ve heard some kids mention they don”t like school because they are being teased by other people around them. A lot of the time, we have to deal with these problems on our own which is good because we can work together to be nicer. However, sometimes getting a parent”s or teacher”s help can help to try to find the best solution in an argument or situation. Sometimes it”s hard to remember we all have problems and challenges in our lives. Some people like to talk about stuff like that but others might not, so it”s good to be nice to everybody. We should all try every day to make others feel welcome and be kind. Have you seen the commercial for change on Disney Channel? If you haven”t, it talks a lot about bullying and how you can prevent teasing around your community. Making sure we watch out for each other and are always nice is important!

Well, I think I have said enough about school! I”ll write you guys another letter soon! If you ever have an idea on how to spread kindness or have anything you would like to ask me, you can email me at gg@tillmanallengreer.com.
