Gwinnett Cities Celebrate Fourth of July

When we think of all-American holidays, there”s nothing like celebrating our country”s freedom on the Fourth of July. Waving the red, white and blue American flags and seeing fireworks fly across the sky are great ways to enjoy this day with family and friends.

With Independence Day falling on a Wednesday this year, plan to celebrate this mid-week holiday with the Gwinnett city of your choice. An extravaganza of fireworks, parades, live music, food and kids” activities all await you.

On the evening of July 3, the cities of Duluth, Lawrenceville, Norcross and Sugar Hill will be hosting their prelude to the fourth festivities.

  • Duluth will celebrate their annual Duluth Celebrates America!#at Scott Hudgens Park. Festivities include family friendly activities like inflatable rides, rock wall, carnival rides/games, face painting, food and drink to include beer and wine that will be on sale. The pre-show will begin promptly at 4 p.m., with performances by the Duluth Idol winners, Full Circle, Gasoline and 116th Army Band.
  • Lawrenceville will host Prelude to the Fourth, a free musical celebration. The Aurora Theatre will perform Big River on the Historic Courthouse lawn at 7:30 p.m. Families and friends can enjoy this outdoor performance and a spectacular fireworks finale.
  • Norcross” Independence Day festivities begin at 3 p.m. in Lillian Webb Park. Guilty Pleasure, Nathan Ware Band and Mike Veal Band will provide live music. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy this free concert with an encore of fireworks.”#”#Sugar Hill will host “Sparks in the Park,” from 6:30 p.m. to midnight in E.E. Robinson Park. Enjoy a night with music from Lakyn Brinkman and 7 Bridges. Fireworks begin a 9:50 p.m., followed by a presentation of the movie, Kung Fu Panda II.

On July 4, celebrate the stars and stripes of Independence Day with the Gwinnett cities of Berkeley Lake, Loganville, Braselton, Lilburn and Snellville.

  • Kick the day off right with a parade in the cities of Berkeley Lake or Loganville. These are sure to garner patriotism in everyone!
  • At 4 p.m., the City of Braselton will start their festivities with a parade down Highway 53 followed by a performance in Braselton Park by the Kinchafoonee Cowboys. At dusk, fireworks will round out the evening”s events.
  • Lilburn”s fourth festivities include performances from The Mustangs and Freddy”s Finest. Radio sponsor, 94.9-The Bull, will be playing music between sets and plans to give away gifts during the event. The fireworks show will start#at 9:30 p.m.
  • Star Spangled Snellville will take place on the Towne Center Green at 3 p.m. The event will feature inflatables, rides and games, food and musical performances from Maria Cox and Thad Clarke, Jordan Humphrey, the Fine Line Band and Gwinnett Community Band. A fireworks show will end the night with a BANG!
