Join the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce as they celebrate our growing small business community in Gwinnett County. Take part in a full week of educational, social, business building and networking events. Small business week events are open to all members and non-members!

MONDAY – June 18th

What: Small Business Week KICKS-OFF’s with

The Official Signing Ceremony of The Strategic Alliance Memorandum between The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce & The U.S. Small Business Administration

Where: @Gwinnett Chamber, 6500 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Duluth Time: 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

The signing of the strategic alliance memorandum commits both entities to collaborate in supporting the development of small businesses across the Metro Atlanta area.

What: Small Business Money Matters Monday – Two Great Sessions

Where: @Gwinnett Chamber, 6500 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Duluth Time: 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
11:00 – Noon: Session I: Managing Credit for Business Success

Good credit is one of a business owner’s most valuable assets. But strong credit isn’t something that you simply have or you don’t have. Building credit is an active, ongoing process that takes careful management. This workshop we will be focusing on the credit and financing needs of businesses like yours. We’ll cover how credit and lending work, explore the possibilities of credit financing, and show you how to make the most of your credit opportunities – both traditional and nontraditional.

12:30 – 1:30: Session II: Accessing the Right Capital at the Right Time to Scale your Business

Starting a business is easy but scaling a business is hard. Growth often brings challenges before it brings success. Businesses trying to navigate the constraints of working capital issues and cash flow challenges are often directed to standard solutions without really analyzing their specific issues. Archie Jones, former private equity investor and CFO of NOW Corp will look at the real causes of these scaling problems and will discuss a variety of solutions for each situation.

TUESDAY – June 19th

What: A Boomer & Millennial Walk into a Bar . . .

Creating a thriving multi-generational workplace

Join a Boomer and Millennial in a conversation about how to embrace the rewards and challenges of working in a multi-generational workplace. Do you find yourself frustrated or confused about the actions or thought-processes of another generation in the workplace? Are you experiencing inter-generational conflict? Has working in teams become extremely difficult?

This workshop is the shift in perspective you need to create an enjoyable and productive multi-generational team. Come to understand, be understood and walk away with practical tools that will enable your business to thrive. It is possible to be successful with multiple generations in the workforce, all you need is the right perspective and system to implement. (Light breakfast included)

WEDNESDAY – June 20th – “Featured Event”

What: How to Do Business with Gwinnett County

Where: @UGA Gwinnett Campus, 2530 Sever Rd., Lawrenceville Time: 8:30 a.m. – Noon
For small businesses interested in learning how to sell their goods or services to the county – this is a can’t miss event! Join the Gwinnett Chamber and Gwinnett County purchasing and procurement staff at this half-day, hands on opportunity to learn how to find and secure opportunities with Gwinnett County. If you are a new or small business interested in learning how to sell your products and goods to the County, this is a must attend event. (Light breakfast included)

THURSDAY – June 21st

What: Business After Hours

Where: @ Courtyard by Marriot 1948 Satellite Blvd., Duluth Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Gwinnett’s largest monthly networking event provides a way to meet new people, gather business leads and network with 200+ fellow Chamber members. It’s the perfect opportunity to show off a new business and gain valuable leads in a relaxed, after-work setting

FRIDAY – June 22nd

What: Small Business Networking Social

Where: @ Arena Tavern, 2000 Satellite Blvd, Duluth Time: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Help us close out a fantastic week while you mix, mingle and network. (2 beverage tix and appetizers).
