Serious wine drinkers often take note of the liquid”s color and clarity, its smell and taste. But depending on who you ask, the atmosphere where one imbibes the fermented-grape alcoholic beverage can make all the difference.
Take, for instance, those who plan to attend the upcoming Suwanee Wine Fest, an inaugural event scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m., Oct. 5 at Town Center Park. Benefiting Annandale Village, the gathering will feature wines from local businesses like Chateau Elan, Three Sisters, Wolf Mountain, Frogtown Cellars and Habersham Winery, as well as more than 250 other offerings hand-selected from around the world.
Event Coordinator Angie Veugeler said that there will also be food vendors with samples that will pair well with available wines. Veugeler said Town Center Park “is just a great place for a festival. It”s a perfect setting.” She added that October weather would be well-suited to the event.
Attendees must be 21 or older to enter the festival. To purchase tickets in advance at a reduced price of $55, visit www.suwaneewinefest.com. Tickets will be available the day of the festival for $65. Prices include a commemorative glass for the afternoon of wine tasting.
