My name is Mary Ellen Fulkus, and I am Executive Director of Keep Georgia Safe, but most importantly I am a Mom. Keep Georgia Safe is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, founded by Gary Martin Hays, with the mission to provide safety education and crime prevention training in Georgia. To fulfill our mission Keep Georgia Safe sponsors radKIDS# personal empowerment safety education instructor training and program implementation.

radKIDS# is the national leader in children”s safety education, and is dedicated to providing realistic choices and options to children and parents concerning their overall safety in the world today.# Curriculum topics include: Home, School and Vehicle Safety; Out and About Safety; Bullying Prevention; Realistic Defense Against Abduction; Self-Realization of Personal Power; Good-Bad -Uncomfortable Touch; Fire Safety; Gun safety; and much more!# Over 75 children threatened with abduction used their skills and returned safely to their families.# Thousands of sexually assaulted and abused children have spoken up and received the help they needed to stop the abuse and thousands more have escaped the bullying and peer to peer violence.# The radKIDS# curriculum includes a child-centered bullying prevention model which has received more attention nationally and from school districts in recent years. With radKIDS## personal empowerment safety education training, children become empowered and learn to replace the fear, confusion, and panic of dangerous situations with confidence, personal safety skills, and self-esteem.

To date, Keep Georgia Safe has sponsored three instructor trainings certifying 64 teachers, police officers, and parents in radKIDS# .# As a result of these successful instructor trainings, Keep Georgia Safe has been able to facilitate and implement radKIDS# programs into seven schools and community centers including programs at Greater Atlanta Christian School, King Springs Elementary School, Gwinnett Community School, Northside Methodist Preschool and Johns Creek Police Department.

If you are interested in having the radKIDS# program implemented in your child”s school or community center, please help Keep Georgia Safe spread the word to the school leadership and teachers.# The radKIDS### curriculum fits very nicely into P.E. and health classes as well as after-school programs.# The educational program meets the requirements for presidential physical fitness and aligns with state curriculum standards. If you are interested in teaching radKIDS in an established child program or school, please contact me at or 770-934-8000 ext 710.# We are working on plans for another national instructor training this fall.# To learn more about radKIDS# visit or

I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to help Keep Georgia Safe raise awareness about radKIDS# personal empowerment safety education and help us empower more children! My own children have completed the radKIDS# program and are now “radKIDS# “#as they proudly call themselves.# It never ceases to amaze me how often they remember a safety drill or skill from radKIDS# .# The program is based on muscle memory and brain learning theories, in which children learn best through movement and repetition, not talks or lectures. The skills learned and empowerment gained last a lifetime!## I know I cannot be with my children 24/7.# I feel a great sense of relief knowing my children have successfully completed a radKIDS# class.
