Freshman Residency Requirement
Macon State believes that living on campus provides a superb environment for students to thrive in college. Our requirement that traditional students in their freshman year live in our on-campus housing community reflects our commitment to student safety and wellbeing and our expectation that campus housing provides educational benefits in community living, small-group relationships, and meaningful connections to faculty, staff, and fellow students.
There are exceptions to the residency requirement; however, we encourage all traditional students to consider living on campus as a way to make the most of the Macon State experience. For full details on the Freshman Residency Requirement, visit: www.maconstate.edu/residencelife/freshman.aspx.
