M&I Materials Opens U.S. Operations in Gwinnett County

M&I Materials, an advanced manufacturing company based out of the UK, joined Gwinnett Economic Development and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce to announce the opening of their new U.S. headquarter operations in the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District (CID) in Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta, Georgia.

M&I Materials, first established in 1901, provides a range of specialist materials for industry and science to more than 60 countries worldwide. The company works in collaboration with their U.S. based manufacturing partner, Valtris Specialty Chemicals, to produce the MIDEL range of insulation fluids, a leading brand of ester-based dielectric fluids since the 1970s.

“The Metro Atlanta region has proven to be a perfect location for our American headquarters, said Alonso Castillo,” President for MIDEL North America. “We’ve already taken advantage of the rich talent pool, by adding technical and sales staff to our team, and the connectivity offered by Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is unparalleled.”

“I am delighted to welcome M&I Materials to Gwinnett County’s international business community,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chair, Charlotte Nash. “I am confident that Gwinnett has the key elements they seek in order to grow and I wish them continued success.”

M&I Materials new U.S. headquarters will be located at 3675 Crestwood Parkway, in the Gwinnett Place CID.

“M&I Materials decision to establish their U.S. operations in the Gwinnett Place CID speaks to our ability to attract and develop thriving international companies,” said Joe Allen, Executive Director of the Gwinnett Place CID. “We have the high-caliber talent and access to the world’s busiest airport that equips companies, such as M&I Materials, with the tools they need for continued success.”

As well as offering the MIDEL materials to the U.S. power generation and distribution market, M&I Materials plans to build upon its existing businesses in the aerospace and nuclear engineering sectors.

“Gwinnett County is dedicated to supporting and assisting the expansion of international businesses to our community,” said Andrew Carnes, Director of Economic Development. “We continue to be a premiere location for international companies seeking to establish their presence in the United States and I look forward to supporting M&I Materials growth as they expand in our community.”
