Ten years ago, New Life Academy of Excellence, Inc. was established with the goal of developing a world-class chartered educational program while providing a positive environment that encourages independent and creative thinking.
And in 2006, New Life Academy’s first three-year charter was approved by GCPS and the Georgia Department of Education, making it the first approved start-up charter school in the history of Gwinnett.
Its recently renovated Duluth campus now accommodates all 670 students in grades K-8.
“The ultimate goal for our students is to prepare them to be successful in a global economy,” said Alphonsa Foward, Jr., director of New Life Academy.
New Life Academy students are given a unique opportunity to learn Chinese as a part of the school’s dual-language program lead by three full-time language instructors. The program offers students a tremendous advantage in the global marketplace.
Just three years after opening its doors, New Life Academy experienced a 100 percent pass rate on the CRCT and was awarded the 2010 Platinum Award for Greatest Gains in Student Achievement, the 2010 Bronze Award for Outstanding Student Achievement and won 1st Place on the 2010 Georgia Grade 5 Writing Assessment.
“If parents want a school with rigorous curriculum, high expectations for every student and an educational environment suited for academic achievement, New Life Academy of Excellence is it,” added Foward, Jr.
New Life Academy of Excellence Norcross was recently recognized as one of the top 15 schools in the state of Georgia and received a 5-star rating in the 2014 College and Career Ready Performance Index, exemplifying the schools continued dedication to quality education.
