Founded just three short years ago by Dan Thomson, Lawrenceville resident and publisher of The Wine Report, the event is a celebration of wine, food, art and music. The only regional festival for the Southeast, the event has gained such popularity that it moved its location to the Civic Center to better accommodate the 6,000 guests expected to attend.
The two-day event welcomes visitors over 21 to learn about different wines, sample from hundreds of wineries and enjoy things that go hand-in-hand with wine, like food, art and music.
Chefs from top Atlanta, Athens, Birmingham and Charlotte restaurants will perform cooking demonstrations, and several local restaurants will offer samplings from their menus. About 50 restaurants are expected to serve their menu specialties each day of the festival. Enjoy some of your favorites or experience new flavors from places like:

This year will also feature international-themed food pavilions with food and wine native to different countries offered for sampling.

To allow guests to enjoy the day responsibly, a designated driver program has been established for the event, and a local taxi service is offering discounted fares. Also, the Hilton Garden Inn and Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place are offering discounted room rates for Wine South guests.
Wine South will open its doors from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. Admission is $50 per person each day or $95 per person for a weekend pass. Prior to the opening day of Wine South, a Vintners Reception will be held at the Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on September 27. This #elegantly-casual# event will offer wine samples with catering by Proof of the Pudding. A silent auction will be held, and all proceeds will benefit the Children#s Arts Museum.
