Summer Nights

One of the best places to hang with 5,000 friends on a summer night is on the concert lawn at the nearby Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. This summer, bands like Sugarland, Green Day and Sound Tribe Sector Nine will set the vibe for the evening. Get your tickets in advance, and arrive an hour before the concert to stake out your spot on the lawn. Bring a blanket or rent a lawn chair ($5 cash). Also, don”t forget to bring enough bucks for refreshments because absolutely no coolers or picnic baskets are allowed. Parents can pick-up and drop-off at the East/Main gate entrance, there”s a no re-entry policy and all concerts are rain or shine. www.vzwamp.com and www.ticketmaster.com

Or, get some friends together and find a ride down to Lakewood Amphitheatre to spend a summer night under the stars hanging with the Vans Warped Tour, 311 and The Offspring, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson and Creed. www.livenation.com

If the weather”s too hot for outdoor concerts, don”t miss the American Idol Tour coming to the Gwinnett Center in August. www.gwinnettcenter.com
