Self-serve frozen yogurt chain Yogurtland opened its first Georgia store in Atlanta at the West Paces Ferry Shopping Center in March. Owner Rick Evans was the first to introduce the brand to the community and has plans for continued growth throughout the metro Atlanta area. Evans expects to open a total of 5 – 7 additional locations over the next 2 years and already has two additional units under construction located at 4880 Peachtree Corners Circle in Norcross (slated to open mid-October) and 2727 Highway 54 W in Peachtree City (slated to open mid-December).

Yogurtland expects to add 15 locations throughout the state of Georgia, with 10 in the metro Atlanta area, over the next three years. Since the opening of its first location in California in 2006, Yogurtland has grown to approximately 150 locations throughout the U.S. as well as stores in Guam and Mexico. The company is planning for a total of 75 additional locations either open or in development by the end of 2011, expanding to more than 550 total locations by the end of 2015. The focus will be on expanding existing markets in Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Austin), Atlanta, Portland, Seattle and the Tri-State Area surrounding New York City.
