Fall in love with fall at the farm! Enjoy the season at a restored 1930″s heritage farm. The Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center (GEHC) invites you to experience outdoor family fun during Touch a Tractor at McDaniel Farm Park on Saturday, October 8, and Sunday, October 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Tour the beautifully decorated 10-acre heritage farm while exploring antique tractors and watching historical demonstrations.# Relax on a hayride or dance the day away to bluegrass music. The weekend entertainment features the Skillet Lickers, Bill Long & the Wild Heard, Exception to the Rule, the Cartecay River Band and Blue Billy Grit. Listen to old time tales and be sure to visit the animals in the petting zoo. Don”t forget to purchase a pumpkin for your porch and decorate one just for you! Browse crafters for the perfect Christmas gift and pick up a tasty treat from a number of local food vendors.
“This is a great family event for those who desire a local fall festival in a unique farm setting,”# stated Catherine Long, GEHC History and Culture Program manager.
Touch a Tractor is sure to be fun for the whole family! Admission cost is $1 per person, plus there are small fees for some activities. Guests can pre-register by calling 770.814.4920 or pay at the admission gate the day of the event. Event parking is available at the rear entrance to the property on Saturday and shuttle parking from Shorty Howell Park to the event will be provided on Sunday.
